I view the assessment process as a puzzle - putting the pieces together to gain the best understanding of your child/adolescent, or for yourself as a young adult. Assessments involve identifying individual strengths and weaknesses and determining how to use strengths to bolster weaknesses.
Assessment services include:
- AD/HD
- Learning Disabilities
- Giftedness
- Social-emotional concerns (e.g., Anxiety, Depression)
The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in therapy; thus, it is crucial that you feel like the "fit" is a good one. It is important to me to work together with families to develop treatment goals and plans. I then use an integration of complementary approaches, drawing from various methodologies and techniques, to determine what is most helpful for each individual and/or family. Empirical support and best practices guide my therapeutic work. In addition, I feel that it is important to maintain continual dialogue with young people and families to discover whether the strategies and supports being discussed are helpful.
Treatment Services include:
- Anxiety (Generalized Anxiety, Social Phobia, Specific Phobias, Separation Anxiety)
- Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Depression
- Behaviour Management
- Parenting
- Adjustment issues
- Supportive Counselling
